News, Views & How-To's
What's cooler than boldly going where no man has gone before? Boldly going where no man has gone before with a sweet wrap emblazoned on your galactic transportation vehicle. To celebrate the release of Roland's new TrueVIS VG series, we're having a bit of fun, imagining what some future vehicles would look like if their graphics were produced on the future of print/cut devices.
Top 10 Do’s and Don’ts of Great Vehicle Wrap Design
Before you start designing, you should size up the vehicle. Photograph the vehicle from all sides and take key measurements of the sides, hood, rear, roof and bumpers, then scale the photos accordingly in your design software.

Video Killed the Radio Star
If you grew up around the same time I did, you probably know that this 1979 song from the Buggles is the answer to a trivia question. The trivia question is, of course, “What was the first video ever played on MTV?”
Off to Japan
Votes have been counted, and samples have been securely packed. While the Roland Creative Awards have been closed to entries for months now, final judging hasn’t taken place yet. Roland Restyling is "in a Relationship"
I'm not much of a car guy. First because I'm not a guy and second because cars to me are simply a method of transportation – not a source of entertainment or a statement of style. (Although I suppose my 4 Door Honda Accord DOES speak to my practical nature.) Recently, however, I'm looking at NASCAR in a whole new light.
What's the difference?
As you have probably noticed from some other posts, we have been spending a lot of time at trade shows lately. They are always exciting for me because I get to see all kinds of new technology in one place, but also because I get to meet a lot of Roland users all at once, and hear about their work. While I’d like to believe that simply owning a Roland is a competitive advantage, almost everyone I talk to has some additional way to differentiate their business. One user bragged that he could turn around 8″ x 10″ canvas prints, stretched and ready to hang, within 24 hours of an online order. That means event photographs get delivered while the event is still fresh in people’s minds. Some owners have found that focusing on and perfecting one application, like wall coverings or window treatments has made them stand out.
