Roland Joins the Fury with the Lotus Mad Max F1 Car

Likely, most Roland vehicle wrap users and other Roland gearheads have already seen the Mad Max Fury Road movie with its spectacular array of post apocalyptic hotrods and weirdly wonderful machines. What you might not know is that Roland DG had a small part to play in the promotion of this movie with a very special F1 car that looks like it spent more time in the deserted wastelands of Australia, chasing after the elusive Mad Max than it has on an F1 track.

Planting a Jurassic Idea with NOTLabs and Roland 3D Milling Technology

Roland DGA talked to Shawn Sims from NOTLabs about his Jurassic World Toys project and prototyping with the MDX-540S. To coincide with the merchandising of its Jurassic World collection of movie themed products, Target reached out to design trendsetters, NOTCOT, to see what they could come up with. With the help of the Roland MDX-540S rapid prototyping machine, they created custom designed and milled desktop planters that look like Lego® pieces and are simply “Rex’trodinary.”

Like you, we’re learning a lot about the technology and applications every day.

Wet or Dry? The Need for Both Dental Milling Machines

Roland DGA recently announced the release of the DWX-4W, our company’s first wet-milling machine. It was added to the Roland family of dental milling devices in answer to our lab and dental users need for a wet-milling option to handle many of the new brands and materials such as IPS e.max®. The DWX-4W fills a gap in many dental restoration workflows, giving laboratories the added flexibility of milling glass ceramic, lithium disilicate and composite resin materials that are becoming increasingly popular in the industry due to their high translucency, increased flexural strength and hardness, and overall aesthetic value for inlay/onlays and other smile line restorations.
