Roland is also hosting a cocktail reception exclusively for registered Roland users, dealers and partners.

Roland invites you to attend any or all of the Roland Continuing Education Clinics that are being held in conjunction with LMT’s LAB DAY at the Chicago Hyatt on Friday, Feb. 24th and Saturday, Feb. 25th. Clinics are open to all LMT LAB DAY attendees at no charge and present an opportunity to gain scientific credits. RSVP is required to save a seat.

His dental industry background also included years of experience with crown & bridge, partial, denture, and sleep apnea prosthesis.

Jim McGuire has been in the dental field for over 30 years. In 1984, Jim received his Associates of Science Degree in Dental Technology from the Dental Technology Institute in Orange, California and in 1994 became a Certified Dental Technician. Since 2004, Jim has been the Director of Education and Technical Support for VITA North America. Jim has published dental lab implant articles, has frequently lectured, and conducted many hands-on clinical, laboratory implant prosthetic and CAD/CAM courses.

FDA Implications for Dental Laboratories

The FDA has a lot more to say about the operations of a dental laboratory than most lab owners realize. From regulating the materials and some equipment that labs use to requiring implementation of a Quality System and Good Manufacturing Practices, FDA is a part of your business. Registration with FDA may be required for certain activities from manufacturing sleep appliances to customized implant abutments. The 510(k) process will also be discussed. This presentation will cover everything you should know about FDA and your lab.

Dr. Ercoli discusses fixed prosthodontics treatment and how digital dentistry can significantly enhance communication between the dentist and laboratory technologist – streamlining workflows for efficient delivery.
Successful dental implant and fixed prosthodontics treatment relies on sound, evidence-based concepts of surgical and restorative treatment planning, but most importantly on adequate communication with laboratory technologist partners. Through better communication among team members, dentist, and technologist, the appropriate protocols for material, design choices and functionality of the final restoration can be achieved.
